'TMNT' Still Photos- Why They Should Worry You

VIEW ALL TOPICS

CGI has a time and place, but this looks mistimed and misplaced.

The official synopsis:
"The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan."
It looks like Nickelodeon Pictures let the interns do the graphics designs.
Raphael's anatomical proportions are...off. Their lair is very obviously digitized. Uncanny valley is calling.
Oh, look! A wall of boom-boxes! Is this a Step-Up crossover film? Wait! TEENAGE Turtles...it's 2014. That should be a wall of iPods [tisk, tisk].
CGI Armor? Is there even a physical model of the Shredder's Armor?
This looks cool, but it's all motion capture...
Is this film live-action? If so, why? This scene is 100% computer driven. Uncanny valley is calling.
Nice use of motion blur on CGI Master Splinter's hand. The 1990 film is starting to okay compared to these photos...and that's not okay.
